Time Travel From Past Through The Future In Any Given Character

The question asked is, “What is the longest book read?” I would have to ponder on that question as I really don’t pay much to the length, but whether it is a good leisure book to read, or something pertaining to education or work. Today, I will focus on leisure according to the title, and my longest has been 500 to 1000 pages. Truth being said, there are some books that I don’t want to end. The story line is so good with twist and turns with a little romance, thriller, and mystery that the story will simply draw you right in.

Reading is an enjoyable way to spend my free time. I almost prefer reading over the TV, as the imagination gets busy and the character is built in one’s own mind. And to travel in places where it may be impossible to go, live in a culture that may not be experienced, or socialize with people that one may never have the opportunity to meet is a wonderful way to spend free time. I’ve read stories about WW1 and WW2, and the difficulties that the characters lived through as they tried to survive. If an individual hasn’t lived through that, it can really make you think through these characters and understand a little of what it was like. Or a young women attending a University in another country apart from her home country, and live through the Spanish Flu. She lost her mother, father, and grandmother, forcing her to return to her home country. Another one, is a teenage girl that was rebellious and angry at her mother and ended up being at the wrong place at the wrong time, and she witnessed two murders that followed her for about 20 years. This is just a few, and the shelves are full of so many creative writings.

Books are a tool that can be enjoyed and boost vocabulary, geography, religion, and language; and at times stir a little curiosity. I never leave home without a book, and will pull a book out to read before going to a device. It’s a very nice way to spend time going through time traveling and experience another life outside of my own.

Youth Is Not Free

We grow up believing we have all the time in the world, however it is only an illusion once we have reach our Golden Years. Our time should be chosen wisely as we listen to those of old in wisdom. Time slips away too quickly and as we try to hurry and get to those milestones, we lose sight on what is important in our youth.

Spend more time away from the devices, and more time with friends and family. Find a buddy (s) that has the same interest outdoors, sports, hobbies, and work. While, my kids and I were growing up, we didn’t have the devices as young people do today. Instead, we went hunting, fishing, hiking, dragged main street on the weekends, went skating, and spent most of our time outdoors; when not in the classroom or working. We learned how to utilize our time through different ways and were fun.

Friendships were (and still are) valuable, and were not made online through social media. Social media was not around in those days, and there was close-up and personal introductions through other friends, on the job, sometimes in the stores, and in the classrooms. Weekends were the highlight of the week as friends hung out in a business parking lot, load a car up in the front, back seat, and trunk to see a movie at the drive-in theater, or hung out at the skating rink and the skate-a-thons.

Continually build a relationship with your parents and grandparents. We may not have them around the rest of our or their life, and no one knows what can happen in the future. They have been given to us and us to them as a gift and are so precious. Each can glean from one to another, and grow in the process of life. One day, when we look back over our life and what we hold dear will be gone, and all we will have is memories of the past in our older years. So, enjoy and build as much as you can. Relationships are an asset.

The youthful years can, and usually does determine the forecast of the ‘Golden Years’. Life does not come easily, and there is a price to each and every choice we make.
